“Return to Bonaire” by Stephanie Braig. The size of this artwork is 47cm wide and 37cm high.
In the summer of 2017, Stephanie Braig worked as an intern for STCB. During this period, she learned a lot about Bonaire’s sea turtles and their life cycle. The life cycle of a sea turtle starts when a female lays her eggs on a nesting beach. Approximately sixty days later, the nest hatches and the baby turtles make their way to the ocean. Several decades later, when the sea turtles reach sexual maturity, they will return to the area where they were born; in this case, Bonaire. This artwork by Stephanie shows a hawksbill returning to Bonaire.
