This artwork is called “Everything Is Possible” by Mario Volk. The size of this artwork is 34cm x 28cm. He used wood, metal, fire, bone and a clockwork.

The technique is burning wood with a special toolkit. This is usually used to conserve. This also helps to make the structure of the wood visible. This time, he wanted to use another way of expression.

“I see deep black water, waves. It is 5 minutes before 12, so it is like an order to act. Similar as we should act to help the turtles to survive. But in the heart, there is also hope. Hope because Sea Turtle Conservation and others are doing a lot to protect the sea turtles. Step up for the turtles and take part in the auction.”

Mario Volk lives in Germany, in the middle of the woods. His motto is: always think positive. Next to that he is a strong believer that the spirit forms the matter.
Since his childhood, he always loved to play with natural materials, such as wood and therefore, he later chose to become a carpenter. Just working with wood was not enough, he wanted to create statements that matter with his artworks.
In his free time, he is a scuba diver and he loves the sea and the turtles. Therefore, he was pleased to be asked to contribute with an artwork for the auction and help protect them.
